Notes: Humberto and Gloria Rios have five kids and a sister-in-law living with them. Humberto sells CD’s at the market, their only source of income. It is 1 1/2 hour walk each way. Five of the children are in school. They have a bike taxi, but do not have the license for it so Humberto uses it to transport his CD’s. They do not want to work as a bike taxi service. Their house is in terrible condition, falling apart like many others. They need house repairs. Gloria used to sell lotto and would like to have a business again like that. They would love to have a bicycle. Mercedes is quite the charmer. Gloria finished high school and wants to become a nurse. Mercedes and Ana often hang out with us when we are in Santa Patricia, with Pastora joining them some of the time.
